A small village with an attractive choice of walks. San Esteban parish church, Pagoeta natural park,
the forge and water mill of Agorregi
and the nature interpretation centre of Iturraran are all worth a visit.
It gives the name to the "appellation d'origine" of the Txakoli. The parish church of San Salvador
stands out in the medieval
centre. Known for its fishing and being the home village of the sailor Elkano and the couturier Balenciaga.
Surrounded by mountains, on its bay the rivers Urola and Narrondo flow to the sea between spectacular
cliffs. The Algorri sea cliffs are of special geological interest.
An attractive and modern tourist town. Its beach is the longest on the coast of Gipuzkoa. The
interesting testimonies of its past
and its works of modern art offer visitors the chance to make a journey
through its history and art.
